GWO Working at Height and Manual Handling Refresher is designed to build on participants prior experience, to refresh their knowledge, skills, and abilities to safely work at height within the wind industry, through knowledge of working at height legislation and procedures, and the inspection and use of personal protective equipment. Participants will also refresh their knowledge emergency response plans for working at height, and ability to perform basic evacuation and rescues using industry standard equipment. Participants will also refresh the knowledge, skills, and abilities previously gained that is necessary to prevent manual handling injuries from happening, through understanding of common musculoskeletal injuries, essential manual handling principles, and practical application of control measures to perform manual handling tasks safely.

This course will cover: • Legislation • Harnesses • Fall prevention • Vertical fall arrest systems • Fall arrest lanyards • Dropped objects • Self-retracting lifelines • Risks, hazards, and suspension trauma • Common musculoskeletal injuries • Essential manual handling principles • Safe manual handling techniques • Emergency procedures • Rescue devices and rigging setup • Practical evacuation, manual handling, & rescue exercises

• You must hold an in-date GWO Working at Height & Manual Handling or GWO Working at Height & Manual Handling Refresher certificate • The refresher course must be completed no later than 1 day before the expiry date on your current certificate. E.g. if your current certificate expires on the 31st January, then your refresher course must be completed by the 30th January at the latest • If you are unsure if your certificate will be valid, please get in touch with us • You must be 18 or over to undertake this course • Participants must have a WINDA ID (to obtain a WINDA ID, participants can register for free here)(https://winda.globalwindsafety.org/register/) • You must complete a medical self-declaration before undertaking the training (this will be sent to you after you have booked) • Participants must weigh less than 127kg to attend this course due to equipment limits • You must be able to speak English to a reasonable level for course material comprehension and safety purposes • You must have an accepted form of photographic ID. We accept the following forms of ID: • Passport • Driving license • A PASS card (National Proof of Age Standards Scheme) • A Blue Badge • A biometric residence permit (BRP) • A Defence Identity Card (MOD form 90) • A HM Armed Forces Veteran Card (MOD form 100) • A national identity card issued by an EU country, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein

• Participants will be assessed via a written test and their practical performance during assessment scenarios • This course is certified by the Global Wind Organisation (GWO) • All participants will receive an electronic certificate uploaded to WINDA (https://winda.globalwindsafety.org/) • Certificates are valid for 2 years • Refresher courses must be completed no later than 1 day before the expiry date on your current certificate. E.g. if your current certificate expires on the 31st January, then your refresher course must be completed by the 30th January at the latest • If a refresher course is completed less than 60 days before the expiry date, the original expiry date is maintained

• All PPE required for the course will be provided, except for safety footwear • We do provide basic gloves, however if you would prefer to bring your own then please feel free to do so • Lunch is provided on most of our courses (the exception being if you are doing a course which begins later in the afternoon) • Unfortunately, we may be unable to cater for gluten and dairy-free, and certain allergies due to our suppliers • If you do have an allergy or food intolerance, please get in touch with us to discuss this before your course date
