The GWO Advanced Rescue - Hub, Spinner, and Inside Blade course is designed to give participants the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform injured person rescue operations in the previously mentioned areas of a wind turbine, using industry standard rescue equipment, methods and techniques, exceeding those of GWO Working at Height. Participants will be able to: • Safely access the hub, spinner and inside blade of a wind turbine to get to an injured person • Perform casualty rescue operations in a wind turbine generator • Correctly use industry standards rescue equipment and methods • ​Understand and demonstrate rescue techniques that exceed those of GWO Working at Height ​​ You must hold valid GWO Working at Heights, GWO First Aid and GWO Manual Handling certificates (or refresher versions) to take this course.

This course will cover: • Understanding emergency response planning in a wind turbine environment and where applicable within your own organisation • Supporting a casualties head and spine during rescue operations, including the use of cervical collars • Packaging and transporting casualties using a variety of stretcher types • Rigging and set up for raising and lowering operations • Practical exercises including rescuing a casualty from: • Blade to hub​ • Hub to ground • Hub to nacelle • Nacelle to ground • Transition piece to vessel

• You must hold valid GWO Working at Heights, GWO First Aid and GWO Manual Handling certificates (or refresher versions) to take this course. • The course must be completed no later than 1 day before the expiry date on the above certificates. E.g. if your current certificates expire on the 31st January, then your Advanced Rescue course must be completed by the 30th January at the latest • If you are unsure if your certificate will be valid, please get in touch with us • You must be 18 or over to undertake this course • Participants must have a WINDA ID (to obtain a WINDA ID, participants can register for free here)(https://winda.globalwindsafety.org/register/) • You must complete a medical self-declaration before undertaking the training (this will be sent to you after you have booked) • Participants must weigh less than 127kg to attend this course due to equipment limits • You must be able to speak English to a reasonable level for course material comprehension and safety purposes • You must have an accepted form of photographic ID. We accept the following forms of ID: • Passport • Driving license • A PASS card (National Proof of Age Standards Scheme) • A Blue Badge • A biometric residence permit (BRP) • A Defence Identity Card (MOD form 90) • A HM Armed Forces Veteran Card (MOD form 100) • A national identity card issued by an EU country, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein

• Participants will be assessed via a written test and their practical performance during assessment scenarios • This course is certified by the Global Wind Organisation (GWO) • All participants will receive an electronic certificate uploaded to WINDA (https://winda.globalwindsafety.org/) • Certificates are valid for 2 years • Refresher courses must be completed no later than 1 day before the expiry date on your current certificate. E.g. if your current certificate expires on the 31st January, then your refresher course must be completed by the 30th January at the latest • If a refresher course is completed less than 60 days before the expiry date, the original expiry date is maintained

• All PPE required for the course will be provided, except for safety footwear • We do provide basic gloves, however if you would prefer to bring your own then please feel free to do so • Lunch is provided on most of our courses (the exception being if you are doing a course which begins later in the afternoon) • Unfortunately, we may be unable to cater for gluten and dairy-free, and certain allergies due to our suppliers • If you do have an allergy or food intolerance, please get in touch with us to discuss this before your course date
