Safer at Work Now Offers Medical Assessments With The Launch Of Our In-House Medical Centre - Meet Dr Maria Jackson

We are delighted to announce that Dr Maria Jackson is joining Safer At Work as our associate in-house doctor at our newly established Medical Centre at Safer at Work Gateshead. Dr Jackson is an extremely experienced clinician and we are looking forward to working with her. The creation of our Medical Centre enables Safer at Work to now provide medical assessment services as part of our offering.

Dr Jackson moved to the North East in 2002 to study medicine at Newcastle University, having previously been a pharmacist in London.

After completing her degree, Dr Jackson worked as a general medical specialist within the NHS, and has in recent years conducted offshore medicals within the wind industry, gaining an enormous amount of experience in the physical and mental requirements of the renewables sector.

DR Jackson has a wealth of experience within the wind industry and she will be a perfect complement to our GWO training centre. 

Dr Maria Jackson said:

“I’m really passionate about doing medicals for workers in the wind industry. As well as checking and reassuring people that they are fit and healthy, it feels great to know that I’m supporting people in their careers. Meeting new people is something I thoroughly enjoy, so it’s great to be able to do this every day of my working career.

“Joining Safer At  Work offers a fantastic opportunity for me. My role will be broad-ranging so no two days will be the same. There is also lots of scope for me to develop the Centre further and shape and grow the department.”

Dr Jackson will be with us Tuesday and Thursdays at Unit 2 Nest Road, Felling, Gateshead, Tyne & Wear, NE10 0ES.
